Elegant Yet Functional

e

There was only one practical solution

Initially, the kitchen was a small space that flowed into the dining room. It lacked a pantry and sufficient storage. To address this, the only practical solution was an extension at the back of the house. By choosing a two-story addition, the homeowners could include an extra bedroom that effortlessly functions as both an office and a guest room.

The new kitchen, measuring 13' x 17' and expertly designed to match the existing proportions, looks like it has been part of the house from the start. By combining wood-toned and white cabinets with warm gold accents, we created a kitchen space that's both modern and timeless.

Dining in Style

In keeping with the character of this home, we included bespoke wainscoting in the dining room. This wood paneling not only safeguards the walls but also enhances the space, infusing it with an air of understated elegance.

Entryway: Before & After

Without a dedicated entryway, our clients and their two small children needed a compact mudroom for storing shoes, coats, and backpacks. However, it was essential for them that it did not obstruct Mom's view from the kitchen into the dining area. To address this, we designed a custom cubby with baskets for storing shoes and toys and hooks for coats and bags. We selected tile flooring that is easy to clean, making those inevitable muddy tracks a breeze to manage.

A bright dining room with a wooden table and eight chairs, large windows, potted plants, and a small entry area with an umbrella, boots, striped bag, and hanging hat. Sunlight fills the space.
