The clients, parents of teenage sons, decided to renovate their basement to create a fun, welcoming space for their kids and their friends. The goal was to transform the old, dark area into bright, functional rooms, including a fitness room, laundry room, craft room, and kitchenette, along with an updated bathroom and family room. They even added space for a new pool table.

Light-filled and ready for lounging

The design aimed to maximize functionality by creating separate areas for exercising, crafting, and laundry. By replacing the enclosed staircase with a modern, open design, they allowed more natural light to fill the basement, making it feel larger and more inviting. The consistent flooring throughout further enhances this spacious feeling.

Dedicated Activity Areas

The new fitness room offers a view of the backyard, making workouts enjoyable, while the teenagers now have a dedicated spot for their pool table and music practice. The kitchenette is perfect for grabbing snacks and drinks, with ample storage for seasonal dishware.
