We aimed to transform the kitchen into an oasis of light and understated sophistication. Moving the sink beneath the window opened up the island to become a spacious work area. We strategically positioned the stove between the refrigerator and windows, achieving a harmonious balance. Given the immovable column that supports the second-floor extension, we embraced it as a design feature, wrapping it in the same luxurious quartz as the countertops. This integration results in a seamless and contemporary aesthetic.   ### **Before** ![Warren St Before 3](https://smileyrenovations.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Warren%20St%20Before%203.jpg?width=800&height=504&name=Warren%20St%20Before%203.jpg "Warren St Before 3") ![Warren St Before 4](https://smileyrenovations.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Warren%20St%20Before%204.jpg?width=790&height=799&name=Warren%20St%20Before%204.jpg "Warren St Before 4") ![Nestled in a stylish Montgomery County home, the modern kitchen boasts a white marble island adorned with dark wooden stools. Poor insulation affected the windows and doors, while a bulky radiator obstructed a glass panel. In winter, the tile flooring became bitterly cold. Adding modern windows and elegant French doors has significantly improved the comfort and ambiance of this space. The newly installed wood flooring was carefully stained to blend seamlessly with the existing floors. ![Warren Dining Room lights 5.24](https://smileyrenovations.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Assets_2024/Images/Warren%20Dining%20Room%20lights%205.24.jpg?width=1000&height=667&name=Warren%20Dining%20Room%20lights%205.24.jpg "Warren Dining Room lights 5.24") [See more bath transformations](https://smileyrenovations.com/project_category/bathrooms?hsLang=en) ## Create the kitchen that fits your family with Smiley Renovations [Reach out to our award-winning team](https://smileyrenovations.com/contact-us?hsLang=en) [![Smiley Renovations logo](https://smileyrenovations.com/hubfs/Assets_2024/Images/smiley-logo-340x100.png)](https://smileyrenovations.com?hsLang=en) ![Smiley logo celebrating 20 years](https://smileyrenovations.com/hubfs/Assets_2024/Images/SmileyRenovations_Final_Logo22_1-removebg-preview.png) ##### Contact [![call](https://smileyrenovations.com/hubfs/Assets_2024/Images/call.png) (301) 674-7879  ](tel:3016747879) [![mdi_location](https://smileyrenovations.com/hubfs/Assets_2024/Images/mdi_location.png) 8555 16th St. Suite 401 Silver Spring, MD 20910](https://maps.app.goo.gl/LyEcMFUmSZmBFUq97) [![la_facebook-f-1](https://smileyrenovations.com/hubfs/Assets_2024/Images/la_facebook-f-1.png)](https://www.facebook.com/pages/biz/Smiley-Renovations-LLC-129318567106918/) [![basil_linkedin-solid-1](https://smileyrenovations.com/hubfs/Assets_2024/Images/basil_linkedin-solid-1.png)](https://www.linkedin.com/company/smiley-renovations-llc/) [![jam_instagram-1](https://smileyrenovations.com/hubfs/Assets_2024/Images/jam_instagram-1.png)](https://www.instagram.com/smileyrenovations/) [![simple-icons_houzz-1](https://smileyrenovations.com/hubfs/Assets_2024/Images/simple-icons_houzz-1.png)](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/design-build-firms/smiley-renovations-llc-pfvwus-pf~1577359648?) ##### Quick Links - [Portfolio](https://smileyrenovations.com/projects-portfolios) - [Awards](https://smileyrenovations.com/awards) - [Terms & Conditions](https://smileyrenovations.com/terms-conditions) - [Legal](https://smileyrenovations.com/legal-page) Copyright © 2026 Smiley Renovations. | Design by [Krishang Technolab](https://www.krishangtechnolab.com/)
